Cultural festival of NMIMS, KPM school of law.
NMIMS is an educational empire with a 35 year legacy. A multi-disciplinary University with four campuses and 11 schools that include Management, Engineering, Pharmacy, Architecture, Commerce, Business Economics, Science, Law, Aviation, Liberal Arts & Distance Learning.
Today more than 12000 students and 450 full time faculty members are part of India's most sought after academic community. (We did not write the last line, their website did.)
NMIMS Kirit P. Mehta School of Law established in the year 2013 approved by the Bar Council of India (yes our degrees are legitimate) aims to provide quality legal education in order to meet the challenges in the field of law.
“We at Kirit P. Mehta School of Law inculcate and nourish all the professional virtues in a well calculated and planned manner”, is what the website says. And by “well calculated and planned manner” they mean, a daunting trimester pattern, 80% attendance policy and students who really appreciate extra-curricular activities as a well deserved de-stress mechanism that they can avail of once in a while, amidst the biblical life lesson serving monster that is-School of Law.
We could say Meraki is a cultural extravaganza but in reality, it is a melting pot of dead volunteers’ sacrifices, our committee head’s non-existent social lives, millions of rejected conventional event ideas, a thousand arguments with guards to let us use the classrooms beyond 7pm and all the chilly cheese maggi that was consumed during committee meetings. Meraki 2017 resembles a Karan Johar film-very dramatic, really expensive (ask our sponsorship team), running high on exaggerated emotions and an all out masala entertainer you’d watch at least once. We’ll even play Arijit Singh for a bit.
We’ve made our memes, bribed our volunteers with free food and customised t-shirts, had a long arduous committee meeting where democracy prevailed and each department’s best conspiracy theories were voted for, just for you to participate in and win all our fancy prizes in kind.
There’s a competition for everyone at Meraki, from the dancers to the painters to the singers to the actors and even the gamers. Our goal this October is to give you a platform to shed your inhibitions, show case your talents and give yourself that much needed break from NMIMS.
And no, our theme song isn’t the NMIMS Anthem, we promise.
